Westlake's Mikey Giguere Commits to Cal Poly SLO
On National Signing Day, Mikey Giguere is one of 15 Warriors to sign his letter of intent. Giguere committed to Cal Poly SLO, one of the top Cross Country programs in California. Last fall, Cal Poly SLO swept the Men and Women's Big West Conference Cross Country Championships; their second consecutive conference sweep. Mikey chose Cal Poly SLO, "because I really like the team and they have an excellent business program."
Mikey has competed well and has earned numerous awards in his Cross Country and Track and Field high school career:

- Ventura County Coaches XCTF Cross Country Runner of the Year (2012 and 2013)
- Ventura County Star Cross Country Runner of the Year (2013)
- Ventura County Star Cross Country All-County First Team (2012 and 2013)
- LA Daily News Cross Country All-Area First Team (2012 and 2013)
- Ventura County Coaches XCTF Track Distance Runner of the Year (2013)
- Ventura County Star Track All-County First Team- 3200 Meter (2013)
