Mikey Giguere
The four-year track and field and varsity cross-country runner won the California State Division 2 Team Cross Country Championship as a junior and was the Marmonte League Individual Cross Country Champion for three consecutive years.
Named a scholar-athlete for all eight semesters at WHS, Mikey, 17, was also a counselor at Camp Summertime for the past two summers.
His parents, Carolyn and Bruce Hazuka, and cross country coach Joe Snyder have had the biggest influence on his life.
“He has taught me a lot about running as well as how to be a good person. I can honestly say that I would not be exactly who I am today if it wasn’t for him,” Mikey wrote.
Mikey will attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. In 10 years he sees himself completing an MBA and contributing to the growth of a company.
